Things to Remember During Postpartum Weight Loss Journey

Being pregnant is good news however, post pregnancy we realize that we have gained lots of weight and end up suffering from anxiety and depression. Due to which we sometimes feel low and loose confidence. As babies are small, we don’t get ample time to be the way we want.

So, here are three ways to keep in mind while losing weight and at the same time it will help us to stay fit and healthy in the long run.

Health history :

As soon as we deliver a baby, one thing comes to mind is to lose weight in each and every possible manner. So, firstly we should always consider our health history.

During pregnancy most of the nutrients of mother are absorbed by babies when they are in womb and due to which the body fails to achieve the required nutrients. Apart from this, if a woman goes through a C-section a body goes through more challenges and hormonal imbalance.

Hence, I would like to inform you that we must consult our health reports with our family  doctors; who will examine the reports and at the same time do the required health check up and as per that, he will provide necessary prescriptions to meet the requirements.

Subsequently, doctors even ask us to do the essential health check up which includes vitamins, calcium and iron parameters. These parameters are required to carry out so, accordingly the doctor’s can recommend medications which need to be taken.

I would like to add that post pregnancy, we often skip to visit the doctor and this leads to ignorance of our health. As our body is in the phase of recovery, post delivering our baby we must always have a health check up after a month's time.

Nutrition:

This is the one which plays a significant role in building up our health and even immunity. As a mother we don’t have enough time to look after our own selves though; we must always take out time for our health and we should take the sufficient nutrients from the food we eat as these channelize our body as and when our body functions. Besides this, it helps to recover our body at the earliest and even helps in losing weight.

We must ensure that the food which we take must consist of lots of fibre, protein, calcium, iron and vitamins especially  Vitamin B 12. We must ensure that the water intake is adequate.

What exercise to be performed:

We must make sure the exercise which we perform should be those exercises which won’t have any bad effect on our body.

For example : If our body is suffering from iron deficiency, we should not perform strenuous exercise. Instead we should go for moderate ones which are effective and simultaneously beneficial for our health as even these exercises help to lose calories.

We should take care that while performing any exercise we shouldn’t stress ourselves and should maintain lots of patience which will help us to focus in a proper manner.

For example: if a woman goes through a c- section where the body has gone through surgery along with stitches. Hence, we should consider that the exercise which we are going to perform must be performed post 6 months of delivering a baby or only by consulting a respected gynaecologist, where they will let us know what needs to be done?

I wish to tell you that apart from exercise, one can even go for yoga if not comfortable doing exercise, as yoga even helps to relax our body and at the same time helps to relieve stress.

Hope the above mentioned reasons help in a certain way, to achieve the desired goals during weight loss journey.
