Every mother wants their child to eat nutritious food. Most of the mothers stuck with this one word “ How?”. In this blog, I am going to share some healthy yummy recipes which I cook for my son. Till 12 months babies should not have salt, sugar and chilli therefore I am not adding any of these in my recipes. To get a little spicy taste I add a pinch of pepper.


PIZZA CHILLA

  • Rava
  • Curd or water
  • Chopped Cabbage
  • Chopped Capsicum
  • Chopped Carrot
  • Pepper powder
  • Nut Powder ( Powder prepared by roasting and grinding nuts) ((OPTIONAL))
  • Soak ½ rava or semolina for 15  minutes either in curd or water
  • Add some chopped veggies in an equal amount.
  • Add a pinch of pepper powder
  • 1 tsp of nut power 

Mix all the ingredients together. The batter must be of medium consistency- not too thick and not too thin. Add water to adjust the consistency. Now, In a pan put ghee and then batter in small circles. Pizza chilla is ready !!!

 

CUCUMBER PARATHA

  • 1 Grated Cucumber
  • 1 cup Whole wheat flour
  • Pinch of Pepper powder
  • 1 tsp Nut Powder(Optional)
  • Pinch of Carrom seeds (Ajwain)
  • Pinch of Haldi ( Turmeric)

put all the ingredients in a bowl and knead. You do not need water as water from the cucumber will be enough to knead the flour. The dough is ready!! Start making paratha!!! 

MULTIGRAIN PARATHA

  • 1tbsp jowar flour
  • 1tbsp ragi flour
  • 1small chopped onion
  • A small amount of chopped coriander
  • 1tbsp besan 
  • 1tbsp wheat flour
  • 1tbsp rice flour
  • Pinch of Carrom seeds (Ajwain)
  • Pinch of Haldi ( Turmeric)
  • Pinch of Pepper powder
  • 1 tsp Nut Powder(Optional)

Put all the ingredients in a bowl and knead with water. 

Take a small portion of dough, cover it with some rice flour and pat it with your hands to make it thin and round-shaped ( like you cook bhakri) 

Cook it on the pan with ghee!!! Paratha is ready !!

JOWAR CHEELA

  • 3tbsp Jowar Flour
  • 1small chopped onion ( optional)
  • A small amount of chopped coriander
  • Jeera (Cumin)
  • Pinch of Haldi ( Turmeric)
  • Pinch of Pepper powder
  • 1 tsp Nut Powder(Optional)

Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix with water. Have a thin consistency just like Rawa dosa.

In a pan, pour ghee and spread it on the pan; pour the batter from a little distance on a Tawa. Let it cook on each side properly on a medium flame. Serve it with dahi or unsalted coconut chutney.

BEETROOT TIKKI

  • ½ grated beetroot
  • 1 cup mashed boiled potato
  • 1tbsp grated carrot
  • 1tbsp rawa
  • 1/4 cup soaked thin poha
  • Pinch of Pepper powder
  • 1 tsp Nut Powder(Optional)
  • Pinch of garam masala ( optional)
  • 1small chopped onion
  • A small amount of chopped coriander

Take all the ingredients in a bowl and mix it till there are no lumps. Next, make small balls from the mixture. Now, flatten these small balls. Shallow fry them in a pan on both sides on medium flame. Cook till the tikkis are little golden brown from both side.  

Tikki is ready !! 

**Don’t make it too crispy. It will be difficult for the babies to bite it/chew it.

My son is 10 months old, and I am giving him these dishes since he was 7 months old. Beetroot Tikki is his favourite.
