Road trips are always fun and adventurous. I recently went on a trip with my 1-year-old daughter. Honestly, it was rejuvenating and learning experience. From choosing safety and comfortable sitting to taking care of food and hygiene, mom has a lot of work to take care of when travelling with a kid.

Want to know how to travel hassle-free when you have an infant by your side? Here are some below-mentioned tips:

1) Packing and Organizing like a Pro
Pack all the essentials, and if required extra pack some important stuff like diapers, tissue boxes, bottles, etc.  Keep the comfort pillow, blanket, and bedding on your seat accessible which are required while on the trip. Keep all the non-essential stuff like a suitcase and crib at the back of the trunk.
Toys, pacifiers, burp cloths, and a separate "necessity bag" should be packed with everything you'll need while travelling. Make sure you have all the supplies like milk, food items, water bottle, and medicines handy.
Keep some ready-to-eat stuff like biscuits, chips which your kid enjoys eating near your sitting. Pack simple and healthy snacks for your kid.

2)  Select the Perfect Time to Travel
The ideal timing makes for the most successful road trips. If your child rests soundly in the vehicle, plan your travel time during their nap time. You will be able to get a good amount of quiet, peaceful driving in this way, which can help everyone recharge their batteries. In case they are not good car sleepers, plan to leave as soon as your baby wakes up or immediately after a nap.
In either case, before you leave, ensure that the baby has a full stomach and a clean diaper! Clean the diaper so that your kid can sleep well.

3) Take Care of Baby's Entertainment
You need to carry toys, especially their favourite ones and be age-appropriate. Trust me they are saviors and keep the child engaged and you can utilize that time doing your work. It is also important to keep the baby entertained by singing their favourite rhymes/song or playing a peekaboo game. Save their favourite songs on your playlist and play them whenever they start behaving cranky.
Babies love reaching in and pulling out new items, keeping a few items like your tissue box, purse, etc., which are safe. If you feel tired switch off with other travel companions so that baby gets a new person for fresh entertainment.

4) Ask for Help
Believe it or not, travelling with a baby can actually be enjoyable. Just proper planning and the urge to travel with your kid is required. Do not hesitate to ask for help. Mothers are human too they can get tired and feel the need to share the load of handling kids with others. So, don’t feel shy and ask for help whenever required.

Motherhood is a learning process. It works on the philosophy of “One day at a time”. Do not try to overdo anything. Gradually everything can be figured out. Have you been on any road trips with your child? Or planning on one? Do let us know in the comments if you have any inputs.
Happy travelling!
