Grandparents are like the root of a tree, which makes the tree strong and stable, for the stability of the tree we need to be intact to our roots.
Grandparents are very important in our children's life. They are a source of happiness and valuable experiences:

1) Grandparents are the source of behavioural knowledge and values
I have spent my entire childhood with my grandparents, so I know their importance in our lives. I still remember how my grandfather used to tell us historical and religious stories.  Our night walks after dinner with him were filled with talks about universe, planets and stars. I have learnt many things from him. It has increased my knowledge and widened my horizon.
My grandmother taught me many things. I have learnt all the home remedies for kitchen, diseases and for beauty from my grandmother, which is very relevant in today's time also and I use them and feel thankful to my grandmother. So there are things which you would not find in any book or anywhere written but can learn from your grandparents. They, give our knowledge and values which are really very precious.

2) Grandparents provide quality time for your child
In today’s scenario, when mostly both the parents are working and unable to spend time with their kids. This is when the role of grandparents becomes important. They spend quality time with kids, they tell stories, take them for a walk or cycling involved them in some creative task and most importantly keep them away from iPad, television and mobile. They provide a sense of belongingness to your kids by spending valuable time with them. By spending quality time with kids grandparents ensure that they provide moral values through their stories and conversations which can be very helpful in making our children responsible and sensible citizens of the country.

3) Grandparents are the source of inspiration in a kid's life
Grandparents always inspire the kids. If children do well in any area, they appreciate them with an open heart or when they fail then also they motivate them to do better in future. They always try to inspire kids to develop their imagination and dreams, nurturing their spirits and encouraging their mental and intellectual growth.

4) Presence of grandparents decreases the depressive symptoms in kids
A close relationship between grandparents and grandchildren has been related to decrease the symptoms of depression in both parties. Spending quality with each other makes them happy and content. They don’t feel lonely. They have somebody to talk and share their feelings and emotions apart from their parents.

5) They provide information about the family history
Grandparents often share history, the background of their family with the children. They share where have they come from, what struggles they have faced. This arouses interest in children to know more about their parent’s childhood or memories related to their family members. By sharing their struggles and experiences they also help in making kids mentally strong to face challenges in future.

6) They give unconditional love
Grandparents offer unconditional love to their grandchildren, like no one else. Grandparents spend time with the kids, teach them new skills and tell them moral values just because they love them so much and want to see them as a responsible and sensible human being. Grandparents make our children’s life beautiful and memorable.

Sometimes kids don’t stay with them so they couldn’t understand the value of their positive presence. So it’s the responsibility of the parents to visit them often so that the bond between the grandparents and grandchildren can be made. Children can feel the closeness and love of their grandparents and this move will eradicate the loneliness of the grandparents also. They will also feel happy and content.
