Motherhood is indeed the most beautiful journey a woman embarks on. The whole idea of a tiny human being nurturing in your womb is priceless. The corona virus has changed a lot of things across the globe and this means you won't be able to do many things the way you wanted and this also includes birthing plan for an expecting mom like you. In this blog, I will be sharing a few tips which will help make this process a little easier for you and your spouse.
Get all the important information
As a mom to be, I am sure you must be getting anxious with panic driven queries and this is why it is vital that you get all the important information. Ever since the pandemic has spread out, few new-born babies have been infected with corona virus. However, the experts say, even if a situation like this arises, the odds are fairly low. If you or your spouse is found susceptible to the virus before you deliver, your baby will be kept away from you for a while. Please take all the necessary precautions and keep your gynaecologist in loop.
Find out about change in policies
In order to attend the ongoing crisis, many hospitals are halting procedures and postponing appointments. It is better to check with the hospital before, if you have a pre-natal appointment scheduled before your due date. Stay in touch with your gynaecologist and clear all your doubts. Get your birth plan ready plus be prepared. It is perfectly alright to be concerned at this point of time because of the pandemic but please don't panic.
Use the Internet
As you are in the last trimester of your pregnancy, use the internet to get important details about what you need to do if there is any kind of emergency or you could even learn some prenatal yoga. You can also get information about what to pack in your hospital bag. Download video conferencing apps, as after delivery, your friends and family won't be able to visit you personally given the situation. So, it would be great to connect with your loved ones virtually to share your most precious moment.
Be extra careful
We all know that immunity is low when you are pregnant, so you need to take utmost care for your and your baby's wellbeing. You must practice good hygiene, maintain social distancing plus avoid stepping out from your home until there is an emergency.
Get all the essentials
It is suggested that you get all the baby stuff well in advance. From diapers, clothes, baby oil, baby shampoo, baby cream, wipes to baby blanket; you would need them all. Once you have welcomed your little one, pay attention to sanitization plus avoid visitors for sometime. You can use this extra time for bonding with your baby.
Now that you know what you must do if you would be delivering during lockdown, just take it easy and stay calm mommy to be. Please don't panic at all, just talk to your gynaecologist and clear all your concerns and reach out to your loved ones for support. Good luck!
