Remember the times when the only clothes you got were for your Birthdays or Festivals?

When these clothes were faded and utterly impossible to use for outings, they were used as home wear. Nostalgic, isn’t it?

There is no dearth of options when it comes to baby wear or kids-wear, today.

"Overchoice or choice overload is a cognitive impairment in which people have a difficult time making a decision when faced with many options", according to Wikipedia.

Now, more than ever, this holds true since there are so many options to choose from.

Since businesses have gone online, the number of options in kids' wear is unending!

The process is so time-consuming and confusing for moms that, after spending a good one hour on various websites with the dilemma of price variations, and cloth quality, we end up not buying anything or in the worst case buying something impulsively.

If any of this sounds so “you”, then rest assured that you are not alone.

Many moms are facing the same problem and to make things easier for you, here is a list of things to keep in mind, before finalizing that comfortable dress for your child.

1. Select According to the Season:

One of the errors that moms make is selecting dresses that can’t be worn in that particular season.

Though that cute Bunny on that T-shirt might look good on your baby, pay particular attention to whether the weather is suitable for it.

There are many options from half sleeves to full sleeves as per the season. In monsoons as per the weather, you can go for Half T-shirts or Full T-shirts if mosquitoes are lurking around.

In the cold winter months, you can fill their wardrobe with hooded sweatshirts, sweaters, flannel dresses for girls, hooded jackets, sweatpants, etc.

This will get you out of that guilt trap of overbuying unnecessary stuff because children outgrow their dresses in a maximum of six months. So pay particular attention to that.

Here are some awesome monsoon Pajama sets you can buy from the Mom Store here.

2. Budget As Per The Use:

Though we want only the best for our babies, sometimes, we must think about the purpose of buying that clothing. Do we need it as daily wear or for a party? Do you need it as casual wear or a formal outing? Based on the utility, you can decide your budget mentally and then go shopping!

Quality & comfort should be the top priority. Rethink if splurging thousands on that dress is worth it. As I said earlier, children grow up so quickly! When it comes to comfort and reasonable pricing, I love this collection of casual dresses from The Mom Store, which have an incredible variety of children's dresses.

3. Keep the Child’s Interest in Mind:

Infants and Toddlers depend on their mommies for their clothes selection, but for older children, it is best to make them sit along with you while selecting the Clothes. If there is a festival, allow them to choose their own festive wear or ethnic wear, or traditional wear from the kids store or online shop where you can see the size chart & get the perfect size from a popular brand where you can get a variety of kids ethnic wear, cotton kurta, attractive baby boy clothes, elegant girls frocks & dresses and much more.  If you want to buy clothes for kids for birthday parties, quality products such as, dresses for girls or party wear dresses will be a very good choice.

This, my dear, has multiple benefits.

A. Kids Learn Budgeting:

You teach them the importance of planning their budget for clothes. When you tell them that, they can buy clothes for Rs. 2000, they analyze and understand the importance of money.

B. Making Choices Empowers Them:

When they get the dress of their choice, you help build their decision-making skills. You can guide them along the way, but when the actual product is received, they can analyze whether their decision was right or should they make better choices in the future!

C. They will be Happy to Wear their Selection:

You don't have to worry about your child’s reaction or reluctance to wear the dress because it’s their choice, and they will be more than happy to wear their beautiful dresses!

When you see the touch, feel & smell of that brand new dress lightening up your child’s face, remember that it is about looking for opportunities in simple situations like these that empower your child.

Did you ever think that the simple act of buying a dress could be a lesson in life skills for your child?
