Hello readers, your writer Monika is back with an informational blog. We all know how this pandemic phase has affected our life. Especially our children. They became aggressive, nonactive, and less efficient. Their studies got impacted, sports, outdoor activities, social life, and so on.

I can understand as a parent, we feel awful for our kids. But now as everything is getting back to normal, we want our child to act normal.  So, I decided to keep my child Kashvi active, confident, and happy. These are a few tips I would like to share with you all.

Different types of activities

Physical activities - Everyone needs to be physically active. To keep Kashvi physically active, we take her on a night walk. We do different types of a race like a frog race, hoping, run within our society premises. We make it more fun by being a part of the race.

Dance - After completing my daily chores, we take her for a walk and after that, we play some peppy songs in our building wing. She loves dancing. The reason behind keeping this activity in building premises is to make her free from other people. She meets different people and greets them. As she is busy enjoying her dance, it does not bother her who is watching her. She became more confident in front of outsiders.

Shopping - I take Kashvi along with me while shopping. Let it be regular grocery shopping or vegetables. I make sure that she notices what I am purchasing. This way she remembers the vegetable name, fruits name. Apart from these she also remembers the path. Now she can easily recognize her home street.

Chanting Shlokas - While we take a walk we do some shloka chanting. This makes her vocals clear. She enjoys repeating it after me. I started it without any specific intention but now she reminds me to do it if I forget. Isn't it amazing right? Now she tries speaking the words before me.

Eating Habits - I repeat every day which is healthy food and which is junk food. What are the benefits of eating healthy food and what are the disadvantages of junk food? I know kids are attracted to packaged food, chips, and chocolate. I won't say that they won't eat it. But this way they will understand that they are not eating healthy food and it will harm them. You can talk to them and make them understand not to eat it.

Story telling - Every day before going to bed we tell her a story, which can be a part of sleep talk too. Story with morals and values. This way she learns something and even nowadays she creates her own story. This is the best way to communicate with your child and make them understand good habits and bad habits.

Knowledge Channel - We show her tv for half an hour to an hour a day. In which we prefer her showing Nat Geo, Animal Planet or Story section. This way now she recognizes animals she has never seen in real life. What a jungle looks like. Many more things can be introduced to them through tv.

These are a few gimmicks we used for our daughter Kashvi. I hope this will be helpful for you too. And yes if there is anything you do, you can share it with us too.
