Modest Lines To Teach A Child

This pandemic situation and being a survivor of one, I realised how uncertain our life is. My daughter is just two years old. There are so many things I want to tell her. But what if something happens to me? I wanted her to be prepared for every situation. As I lost my mom at a very early age. I know how it feels to be without her. Even today I look for her to guide me.

So I started a nightly ritual with her. Every night before she sleeps, I ask her to repeat these lines with me " I am a happy and healthy child. I am a strong and brave child. I am fearless. Thank you, God, for loving me so much. I love you all." We repeat these lines every night. I want every word to be true for her.

Happy: I want you to be happy for your entire life. Happiness doesn't mean everything will be good around you. You should be prepared to be happy in all situations. You deserve to be happy. Don't make your happiness depend on others or any materialistic things.

Healthy: Health comes first. Never neglect your health for some work. Health is your mental health,  physical health. When your mind and body is healthy, you become positive and happy in life. Nothing is more important than your health.

Strong: There are phases in life, where you need to stand strong. Life brings challenges and occurrences where you may need to make tough decisions. All I would say is stay strong and do what is right for you and everyone.

Brave: You have to be brave enough to raise your voice. You need to stop if something is going wrong. Take a stand, never feel guilty for what you have not done. Always believe in yourself and your intuitions. This world is encircled by good and bad people. You won't be treated well by everyone.

Fearless: It's a mixture of being brave and strong. Life will not always be reasonable. You will need to make some tough calls and you may fail. Failure doesn't mean you are sporadic. Always stand back and fight for it.

Every time you repeat those lines with me. I see you as a fighter. You are very little now, but I wish to read this article with you. I love you Kashvi.
